Our app is built for trade students, apprentices, and professionals studying for their journeyman, master, or Red Seal exams.
We offer prep for NEC-based electrical exams, the Red Seal Electrician exam (Canada), and Red Seal Plumbing exams.
Our questions are built by experienced tradespeople and reviewed against real exam standards to make sure they’re accurate, relevant, and aligned to your test.
We update the app regularly to improve question quality, fix errors, and reflect changes in code or exam formats.
Free users can access up to 5 questions per day with full explanations.
Install the app on your new device and log in with the same account you used on your previous device (Google, Apple, or email). Your progress and Pro access are tied to that account, so once you sign in everything should appear automatically.
If you ran into the Nov 2nd migration, you’ll be taken to the Log In screen — just connect the same account you used before. If anything looks missing after you log in, check Edit Profile to confirm your Authentication ID, then contact support@dakotaprep.com and include the email on your account — we’ll sort it fast.
Because Dakota Prep is a digital product with immediate access to all content, we’re unable to offer refunds. We encourage you to explore the free version of the app (5 questions per day) to make sure it’s the right fit for you before purchasing. If you run into any technical issues, our team is here and happy to help.
No — your account can only be active on one device at a time. Running multiple sessions can cause syncing issues or affect your exam results, so we’ve disabled simultaneous logins to keep your data accurate and secure.
If someone else is using your account on another device, you’ll automatically be logged out. Account sharing isn’t supported and can lead to lost or corrupted data, so make sure your account is used only by you.
If you used Dakota Prep before creating an account, open the app, go to Profile, and sign in with Google, Apple, or email. This links your progress so you can access it on both web and mobile.
Starting November 2nd, you’ll automatically be shown the Log In screen when you open the app. You’ll need to connect your account at that point to continue using Dakota Prep on either mobile or web.
Open the app, go to Edit Profile, and look under your account details for your login method (Google, Apple, or email). Make sure you use the same one on web.
No — once your data is migrated, it’s permanently linked to that account. To avoid losing progress, always continue studying from the same login.
Make sure you’re logged into the same account on both. You can verify this by checking your Authentication ID under Edit Profile on both mobile and web. If they match, your progress and results will stay synced.
Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in. If your data still doesn’t sync, double-check that you’re using the same account on both devices.
Copying or distributing Dakota Prep’s questions is not allowed — all questions and explanations are protected by copyright.
Most features are available on both, but some mobile tools — like offline mode — aren’t yet on web. We’ll continue to roll these out over time.
